The Educational Council of the School of Medicine meets periodically to discuss and investigate several educational issues. The most important responsibilities of this council include the following:
ü Planning and paving the way to implement the decrees issued by the Vice-Chancellery for Education or the Educational Council of LUMS
ü Determining the educational policies of the School of Medicine based on the bylaws of LUMS
ü Examining and approving the educational plans of the School and presenting them to the Educational Council of LUMS
ü Addressing the educational issues of students, and developing an efficient educational strategy to resolve their problems
ü Coordinating the educational affairs of the departments
ü Making executive decisions to coordinate and adjust the time and duration of education and research at the School
ü Determining the employment of new faculty members and submitting the demands to the Vice-Chancellery for Education in order to meet the requirements of the departments
ü Specifying the annual number of admitted and recruited students and presenting the final decision to the Vice-Chancellery for Education
ü Discussing the issues referred to the Educational Council by the Dean or Vice-Deans of the School
