IT Department
Lorestan University of Medical Sciences as a large state medical university comprises many different departments including several faculties, hospitals, health centers, and other sections. This huge institution needs a set of hardware, software, and network facilities.
While each branch and sub-department has its own IT staff, the central IT department is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining computer software, hardware, and network infrastructure for the entire university. Some of the duties of this department located in the university headquarter are as follows:
- Providing and upholding standards for the computer hardware used in the university.
- Meeting the university’s software needs either by developing new software packages or by purchasing from software companies.
- Supporting and providing consultation to all other IT staff in the university’s subbranches.
- Providing the computer network infrastructure that connects all physically separate parts of the university, located in different cities.
