Lorestan University of Medical Sciences

Founded in 1992, School of Health and Nutrition commenced its operation via the inauguration of recruiting students to study in the associate programs of family health and disease control and prevention. This School recruited students to study in the associate and bachelor programs of environmental health in 1994 and 2002 respectively. Environmental health was the next field inaugurated at this School in 2006. School of Health and Nutrition has developed its academic sphere and admitted students in various majors, including nutrition, since 2006. Moreover, this School offers graduate courses in various fields, including environmental health and nutrition. In line with the fulfillment of the major goals set by Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, authorities of the School of Health and Nutrition endeavor to improve the health status of the society by training innovative and competent experts. Furthermore, we intend to extend and develop intergroup interactions and relations, and meet the regional as well as national needs via conducting research on issues associated with health nutrition. This school is home to high quality laboratories with unique facilities. The principal goals we endeavor to reach include the optimization of health education and community health, and the improvement of environmental as well as occupational health. High standards of education and research at the School of Health and Nutrition have significantly contributed to the extension of academic capabilities among the students. Our distinguished faculty members constantly undertake vital researches in various issues related to health and nutrition. Since the officials of the School of Health and Nutrition firmly believe in the efficacy of exchanging scientific theories, collaboration with both domestic and foreign schools of health and research centers is highly valued in this school. Hence, not only are we willing to exchange our acclaimed researchers with foreign schools but also we are looking forward to recruiting international students. We combine teaching and research in our highly equipped laboratories to maximize the efficiency of education.
