      About the Library

The Library of the School of Allied Medical Sciences began its operation with 198 Persian volumes and 121 English volumes in 2007. This Library met a sudden increase in the number of users and shortage of space. Since quality of services became a concern, in March 2005, the Library was transferred to a new site with an area of 300 square meters to the first floor of the School building in March, 2005. This Library is able to provide satisfactory services to students, faculty members and personnel. At the moment, the Library possesses 9127 Persian and English volumes besides 300 subjects available on CDs. The books are arranged according to the NLM system (used for categorizing medical books) and the LC method (used for non-medical titles). The users can easily use the available computer system and check to find out whether the required book has been purchased by the library or not. The system also informs them whether the book on demand is ready for borrowing or whether it is on reserve. The system further notifies users about the exact place where their desired book is located. If the book is lent out, the browser is informed about the exact date when it is due to be returned. After locating the book, users proceed to the circulation desk for the borrowing process.

As a university library, the Library of the School of Allied Medical Sciences aims at progressing educational, research and cultural programs to provide services and to its users.
